Spotlighting Border Patrol and Deportation

Posted by

I want to bring to your attention today the issue of border patrol and why I think that we are resorting to drastic measures in certain areas of the United States in order to keep Illegal immigrants out and deport existing ones within.

Firstly, I would like to say that Illegal immigrants comprise what is estimated to be from 11 to 20 million people in the United States. These individuals for the most part are hard working and want to make a decent legal living within the area in which they reside. They often assume jobs and duties that are considered undesirable to work and also adopt pay rates which to the average citizen would be considered low.

It is this exploitation which rationalizes to many Americans the nonchalant attitude when it comes to taking a more immediate and drastic course of action to prevent entry.  In addition to that, many Americans don’t see anything wrong with the current amount of Illegal immigrants in the United States and actually support it. They feel as though they contribute in such a way that allows America to operate in the way it does, which has allowed it to continue to be a dominating world powerhouse.

Just a reminder, this country was built off the backs of immigrants and slaves, which allowed it be the wealthy, influential country that it is today.  Furthermore, many Americans look at what many would consider to be Illegal Immigrant exploitation, as in actuality giving them more of an opportunity for a better life in a different country.

Again, the majority of these individuals are working laborious jobs and not being compensated adequately.  However, they are willingly assuming these duties. In addition, they voluntarily reside here and continue to decide to live this life as opposed to what they had prior to this cultural shift.

Changing gears, a disturbing topic which is very current is the issue of racial immigrant profiling which is taking place in Arizona, more heavily along the Mexican-American border. Due to the heavy population of illegal immigrants which live in Arizona, The state has started to profile what an illegal immigrant “looks like”, and as a result interrogate them for proper legal documentation.

They are using this method as a means to deport large numbers of illegal immigrants out of the United States and back into mainly Mexico. This was similar to an operation they pulled back in the eighties called Operation Wetback. This entailed law enforcement having the legal right to scourer the US-Mexican border and use physical force to deport illegal immigrants.

They would force their way into the homes of the immigrants, demand to see proper documentation, and if they didn’t receive this, they would use any means necessary to remove them. This obviously didn’t work because it boldly infringed on the rights of citizens who were legal and were being subjected to this discriminatory, intrusive behavior.

So now we have another similar form of discrimination taking place and it clearly infringes on the rights and comfort of legal citizens who have been and will continue to be wrongly profiled.

  1. Keep in mind the Democratic Party sees those illegal aliens as possible votes down the road.
